Atlantic Skies International took delivery of the first of three new Boeing 767-400ER's on 23 August 2001 at its
Salt Lake City Facility. While completing its final fitting out, terrorists struck at the very heart of
the free world on 11 September 2001 and shook the foundations we've built our lives upon.
The day after, Atlantic Aerospace Corporation chairman Patrick Riley, in Salt Lake City preparing to begin
The Heartbreaker Project,
ordered that this 767 be dubbed "City Of New York" and that a large American flag be painted on the
leading edge of the fuselage so that wherever it flew, people would be reminded of those who lost their lives
that day.
A standard 2-class medium to long range aircraft, "City Of New York" bears a dedication under her name:
"For those we lost". Chairman Riley took the left-seat controls on her maiden flight to New York
City once the FAA had reopened the nation's airports,
delivering food, equipment, and quick-built housing in support of the reclamation effort.
